Distorted

Reality distorted through the damaged site of societies skewed perceptions

war and hate idolized in the name of God

human passion and desire criminalize

spare the rod spoil the child

the hell with understanding and compassion

the biggest liars get to rule the country

if you tell the truth it will be used against you and you will be thrown in jail

fair is fair the more money you have

if you’re poor it’s just too damn bad

what a way to live, what a way to go

this is a way of life; these are the things you should know

they don’t do much for you they don’t of you grow

and yes, they are crazy, and yes, we must make some changes

it’s also true there are some crazy big nuclear bombs out there

and if we don’t start by changing a few little things

(they may blow)

just so you know!

Unseen

People walking down the street,

eyes directed at their feet

afraid to think what an upward gaze might meet

they might catch a glimpse of another human’s eyes

forcing them to realize they are not the only one who exists

What unwanted bit of humanity might they see?

What course of thinking could this start?

What if they lifted there gaze up to the sky?

caught a glimpse of something that did not exist in their philosophy

something they believed to be an impossibility

but there it was for all see, that specter of improbability

What course of thinking might this start?

Would they choose to deny their own eyes?

take shelter in false and ignorant lies

or understand what it is they see

and proceed to set themselves free

from ignorant animosity

So grateful

I am so grateful,

for all the blessings of my life

I am basically free from all disaster and horrendous strife

I truly need to acknowledge, the goodness that abides with me

sure, there’s been troubles, I’ve been unhappy along my way

but all in all, life gets better every day

little things that happen through time and space are wonder while they stay

so, I decided to write this poem, to say how grateful I am today

May they last as long as I do, as I finish this good life

free from care and worry and especially horrendous strife.

Note to self

Wisdom says for the best outcome in life it is important to maintain a positive attitude. This means not hating, controlling anger, jealousy, not feeling inferior, or superior to other individuals. Finding ways to keep productively busy but in non-stressful ways.

Important, a board mind can become depressed much in the same way as unused muscles can atrophy. When muscles are unused, they begin to hurt, the soreness of the muscles is similar to the pain of depression in the mind when it is not use in a productive manner.

Life, being what it is does not always supply each individual with every single thing they need. Sometimes it is necessary to exercise both mind and body to find those things which are not readily available within the confines of your particular lifestyle.

Remember nobody said life is going to be easy, on the other hand nobody, says life has to be hard. It is true as the man says there are “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune” and you may get hit by one of these nasty projectiles but like the other man says, “what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger”. Or you can look at it this way if you keep your eyes open and listen to what’s happening around you have a really good chance of keeping out of trouble.

So, try to love, allow yourself to be loved. Try to remember that you are a member of the human race and that except for minor differences our DNA is all the same, we experience the same feelings have the same wants, and desires, and try to remember this statement.

“Do onto others as you would have them do unto you”

In this world

no one says

this will be easy
